God gives grace to the simple, and I'm banking on that for this trip!
Attitude
--I want to see things that may seem weird as opportunities to trust God and learn new things, and not as lack of comfort, etc.
--I need to remember this trip is all about me learning and serving, which should put me in a humble place. I can be so prideful and self-focused, and just be a jerk in general, and I don’t want to be.
--That Jesus would be my treasure, and that I would “lean into” and not shy away from opportunities to talk about Him.
--That I would have a thirst to experience God in new ways through this new culture and new adventures.
--Pray for daily dependence, thankfulness, and joy in God.
--Spiritual protection from temptation, fear, and general warfare. That I’ll keep my armor on.
Circumstances
-I’ll be living in a guesthouse, so it might be easy to “retreat” if I’m tired of the culture. Pray I wouldn’t. ( :
---Culural stress. People have said being immersed in another culture can be like taking an exam all day long—it’s metally and emotionally taxing. Pray I’ll take my Dad’s advice: “roll with the punches, and don’t sweat the small stuff.”
--That God use this trip to direct me regarding long-term service, location, etc.
--
Work & Team dynamics
--Pray for our team relationships: 1) with my Ghanain roommate/teammate, Esther, 2) with my non-Ghanaian trip team members and leader, 3) with the Ghanaian translator team, 4) with other believers) 5) with non-Christian friends.
--That my work and the work of all those involved in translation would be Spirit-led and glorifying to God, both in the quality of work and the way we work together.
